These figures are household adoption (how many homes subscribe to broadband), from the Census ACS. They are not provider or technology availability — that FCC data layer is a later addition. Nothing here is address-specific.

The Connectivity Gap

This is our own calculation: a city's household broadband subscription rate minus the rate for its whole state. A gap of −15 means the city is 15 points below its state. The list below is the widest gaps in the country — how it works.

Built from the U.S. Census Bureau American Community Survey (table B28002). Cities with fewer than 2,000 households are excluded. A gap is a description of a difference, not its cause — income, age, rural geography and housing all feed into it. 6,712 cities ranked.
